ASEMUS 10th Anniversary

8-10th September ASEMUS celebrates its 10th anniversary at a General Conference hosted by Musée Quai Branly in Paris. The main theme of the event will be the mapping of collections, expertise and activities at Asian and European museums. Through plenary presentations and working group sessions different strategies for future cooperation will be developed. Read more


Opening of Posing Questions

One of the main ASEMUS projects is the Travelling Exhibition on portraiture. On January 21st, a new show opened to the public at the Brunei Gallery, School of Oriental and African Studies in London.Read more

Fifth Education Exchange completed

The exchange between museum teachers and outreach staff is one of the main activities within ASEMUS. The program is designed as a twinning project between two museums, one in Asia and one in Europe. In the fifth exchange, staff from the Museum of Foreign Art in Riga, Latvia and the Ullen Sentalu Museum in Sleman, Indonesia visited each other and shared experiences and perspectives. Read more

New Asian lead partner for VCM

In mid-May 2009 the National Museum of Korea agreed to join the Virtual Collection of Masterpieces as Asian lead partner. The museum will join the Board of Trustees and set aside staff to work specifically on the project. Read more
